Disney Vacation Club is one of the most exciting names in timeshare. Owners love their timeshares, satisfaction ratings are high and they are now able to travel to multiple resort destinations.
Disney Vacation Club Ownership:
Disney Vacation Club (DVC) is the vacation timeshare division owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company. Seeing the opportunity in timeshare resort development over 15 years ago Disney VC was introduced to the vacation ownership public.To be a member, one must purchase a timeshare (one-time real estate interest similar to a condo) in one of the DVC Resorts, and thereafter pay annual fees to cover the maintenance of the property. All ownerships are sold as either a ground lease or a term-for-years. It allows buying real estate interest in a DVC resort. Jim Lewis is the current president.

Disney Vacation Club Exchange
Most of the time Disney Vacation Club owners exchange their timeshares within the DVC using a point system. These points are converted like currency into "time" at a certain resort. Owners are allowed to use timeshare exchange company Interval International for exchange options at over 4,000 resorts. They are also free to use alternative timeshare exchange services Timeshare Juice, DAE, or SFX.

In 2002 and 2003, Disneyland Resort in California and the Disneyland Resort Paris were open for DVC owners. In 2005, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort was added. In 2006, Tokyo Disney Resort was added. In May 2005, DVC began advertising and selling at Disneyland Resort in California. In September 2009, they added The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.
Just this year in 2011 Disney Vacation Club opened an 800 room Resort in Hawaii. The name for the resort, Aulani, was announced in January 2010. Located approximately 25 miles (40 km) west of Honolulu at the Ko Olina Resort & Marina, Aulani is the third resort located outside of Disney Theme Park property, after Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort and Disney's Vero Beach Resort.
Saratoga Springs Resort
In March of this year, Disney Vacation Club announced that they were adding to the beautiful Disney Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. This addition will be located between the existing Grand Floridian and the Wedding Pavilion. Two tennis courts will be removed to make room for parking. Also, a covered walkway will be added from the main lobby to the new building. All units being offered will be villas. Recently Disney purchased land outside of Washington DC for another resort.
