Marriott Vacation Club is the most well-kknown name in the timeshare resort industry. Seeing the opportunity in timeshare resort development over 25 years ago Marriott Vacation Club (MVC) was introduced to the vacation ownership public. Subsidiary to Marriott International Inc, MVCI consists of more than 50 timeshare resorts from Mexico to Marbella and Orlando to Phucket, Thailand. MVC is home to over 400,000 timeshare owners. Marriott was an initial investor in timeshare exchange company, Interval International. In 2011, MVC was divested from Marriott to become an independant entity with the potential to have an Initial Public Offering.

Marriott Vacation Club Ownership:
In 1984, Marriott introduced MVC and became the first large hospitality company to enter the timeshare industry, bringing its high standard of service and innovation to vacation owners around the globe. Today, Marriott timeshares for sale and for rent are eagerly sought after by travelers worldwide.

Timeshare Exchange
MVC owners can exchange their timeshare using the following services:
- Interval International - Trade your Marriott Resort Timeshare for exciting vacations all over the world. Marriott VC is affiliated with Interval International, the 2nd largest timeshare exchange company in the world.
- Timeshare Juice - Those timeshare owners looking to avoid the fees of timeshare exchange through Interval have the option of trading their timeshare with any owner from any resort around the world using Timeshare Juice, an online automated exchange club that began in 2010. Started by a timeshare owner, there are no fees on Timeshare Juice.
Marriott Owner Services
Timeshare owners have the resources of a dedicated team of support at Marriott called Marriott Owner Services. When you are ready to book your week/time for the year, you can call them directly or visit them on the Web at VacationClub.com. You can also call them when you want to rent your timeshare. They will do their best to rent it out but they will charge you a 50% fee to do that (i.e. If they rent it for $1000, they give you $500). If you wish to sell it, Marriott VC has the right of first refusal meaning once you find a buyer, you have to call Marriott and give them the right to match the price before you can sell it. I have never heard of Marriott actually buying the timeshare but you still have to do that formality. If you wish to exchange your timeshare, you can use Interval or another timeshare exchange service.
