Red Week: The term “red week” has at least 2 known usages. Both have to do with timeshare ownership. The first is about the type of timeshare that you own (red week, blue week, or white week etc) and the second is about a company in the timeshare industry called Redweek.

Red week.com is a company offering timeshare services for timeshare owners. The Redweek services are timeshare rentals, timeshare resales, and originally timeshare exchange (no longer a service offered by the company). They used the term Redweek because it describes the best season the timeshare has available for use. If you own the Red Week, you own the best time of the year of the timeshare. The lesser time slots are blue and white.

Red week of timeshare: If you own the “red week time” of the timeshare, timeshare owners can use them during peak travel seasons.  Timeshare owners also refer to red week as high demand timeshares.  These properties are more appealing than white or blue week properties (low and medium demand, as they enable the owner to travel during periods that are in high demand). Platinum weeks enable you to use the week or time any time you want. Platinum week timeshares are floating during the entire year.  Red weeks are floating during a certain period of time of the year. This is offered in high demand areas like Hawaii.

Redweek, the company, started in 1998 to offer a better customer experience in timeshare services. The founder saw an opening because there were so many timeshare owners unhappy with the level of services being offered.  Red Week recently announced they were getting out of the timeshare exchange business and gave it to Dial an Exchange. There were many rumors that the timeshare exchange service for RedWeek was doing poorly causing them to get out of the business. It was difficult competing head to head with giants RCI.com and Interval International yet offering the same service offering. Many industry people thought this move to get out of timeshare exchange made sense.
